Selection of Crushers

图片
In mineralprocessing plant , Knowing the number of crushing stages we can now start to select the correct crusher for each reduction stage. Depending on operating conditions, feed size, capacity, hardness etc, there are always some options. For primary crushers, see below. Stationary crushers Mobile Crushers Primary Crusher For soft feed (below Mohs5) a horizontal Impactor (HSI) is normally the first option if capacity is not too high. For harder feed there is a choice between a gyratory or a jaw crusher , see below. Rule 1: Always use a jaw crusher if you can, being the most cost effective alternative. Rule 2: For low capacity use jaw crusher and hydraulic hammer for oversize Rule 3: For high capacities use jaw crusher with big intake opening Rule 4: For very high capacities use gyratory crusher Secondary Crusher In a rock crushing circuit, the second stage normally starts to be of importance for control of size and shape. Because of this the jaw cr...

Gyratory and Cone Crusher

Gyratory crushers were invented by Charles Brown in 1877 and developed by Gates around  1881 and was referred to as a Gates Crusher . The smaller form is described as a cone crusher. The larger crushers are normally known as primary crushers as they are designed to receive run-on-mine (ROM) rocks directly from the mines. The gyratory crushers crush to reduce the size by a maximum of about one-tenth its size. Usually metallurgical operations require greater size reduction, hence the products from the primary crushers are conveyed to secondary or cone crushers where further reduction in size takes place. Here the maximum reduction ratio is about 8:1. In some cases installation of a tertiary crusher is required where the maximum reduction is about 10:1. The secondary crushers are also designed on the principle of gyratory crushing but the construction details vary. Similar to jaw crushers, the mechanism of size reduction in gyratory crushers is primarily by the compressive action of...

Mineral Crushing machinery and crushing operation

Sinonine know that as the ore crushing is performed in stages, crushing may be divided into primary, secondary, tertiary and quaternary stages based on the particle size. Correspondingly, the crushers can be classified into five groups according to the size of the product they produce. ---- Primary Crushers: Jaw crusher , Gyratory crusher. ----Secondary Crushers: Reduction gyratory, Cone crusher , Rolls crusher. ---- Tertiary Crushers: Short-head cone crusher. ----Fine Crushers: Impact crushers. ----Special Crushers: Bradford Breaker, Toothed Roll crusher. Lumps of run-of-mine ore usually of 1 m size is reduced to 100–200 mm size in heavy duty primary crushers. The usual size of feed to secondary crushers is 600 mm and the product is usually 10–100 mm size. In tertiary crushers, particles of 250 mm size are reduced to 3–25 mm size. Fine crushers reduce the coarse particle to fine, even to 200 mesh in some cases. Special crushers are designed for specific ores, for exampl...
