Ore washing method and equipments

图片
Sinonine know that in a beneficiation plant , if ore material content much more mud or impurity, it should adopt washing process to enrich the ore first and then to next separation processing such as flotation, gravity, magnetic etc. Washing is mainly used in the enrichment process of industrial minerals, coal, aggregates, sand and gravel, normally with the products in solid form. (size =1 mm and coarser). Washing equipments include Log washers, Wet Screens, Aquamator Separators, Tumbling Scrubbers, Attrition Scrubbers etc. Log washers Single or double shaft log washers are used for washing of gravel. Contaminated material is fed at the trough bottom and is transported upwards by blades in a screw pattern due to friction between the material. Effluent in slurry form leaves via an overflow weir . Wet screens Water spraying can be used to wash materials on a screen regardless of hole size in the screening media. If the hole size is 20 mm or less, water spraying i...

Size control in crushing and grinding circuits

图片
In the beneficiation plant , it is very important to control the grain size in the stage of crushing and grinding. Especially in metal mines such as iron ore processing line and gold mining equipment , grain size control plays a decisive role in the subsequent stage of selection. A few typical granularity control schemes and their characteristics are described below. 1.Crushing circuits - open screening • Screening ahead of a crusher avoids packing • Less wear in the crusher • Higher total capacity • The screening media is “controlling” the product in two dimensions. No “flaky shortcuts”. Fig1. crushing-open screening 2. Crushing circuits-closed screening • The screens are lowering the capacity • Calibration of the product is improved • Better cubical shape • Higher reduction ratio Fig2.crushing-closed screening 3.Grinding circuits-screening • Used for “trapping critical sizes” in AG - SAG circuits (1) • Used for taking ...

Centrifugal separators

图片
Sinonine think that centrifugal separator is an important gravity equipment in beneficiation plant. Heavy medium cyclone is a centrifugal separator similar to the conventional hydrocyclone in principle of operation. It provides a high centrifugal force and a low viscosity of the medium. Much finer separations are achieved in Heavy medium cyclone than in gravity separators. The ore or coal is suspended in a very fine medium of ferrosilicon or magnetite, and is fed tangentially to the Heavy medium cyclone under pressure. The sink product leaves the cyclone at the apex and the float product is discharged through the vortex finder. These cyclones are commonly installed with axes at 10–15° to the horizontal, thereby enabling the unit to be fed at comparatively low inlet pressure, preferably from a steady head tank. Heavy medium cyclones are widely used for beneficiation of coal in the size range of 13–0.5 mm in coal washeries. By giving a special shape to the cone, and to the cylindr...

Ore material handling

图片
The handling and storage of ore materials (Bulk solids) constitutes a major function in all Mineral Beneficiation plants . The handling of Bulk solids is required between each processing step in a plant, and often as part of a processing step. Surge capacity or storage is also required, both ahead of the plant and within it. As the costs of storage and handling systems in Beneficiation plants are substantial, the storage and handling facilities should be designed and operated with a view to obtaining maximum reliability, efficiency and economy. Bulk solids consist essentially of many particles or granules of different sizes (and possibly different chemical compositions and densities) randomly grouped together to form of a bulk. The nature of such a material – that is, its appearance, its feel, the way it behaves in various circumstances, and so on – is thus dependent upon many factors, but principally upon the size, shape and density of the constituent particles. The nature of bulk s...

Mineral froth flotation

图片
Sinonine deeply know that in a beaker of water, if air is introduced from the bottom, air bubbles are produced  and rise to the surface of the water as the density of an air bubble is much less than that of water (Figure.1 A). Similarly air bubbles also rise if air is introduced in a pulp containing mineral particles. If a mineral particle of high density adheres to the air bubble, the air bubble along with the mineral particle rises to the surface because the apparent density of the air bubble and the adhered mineral particle is less than that of water. If many mineral particles are adhered to the air bubble, still the air bubble rises to the surface as the apparent density of the air bubble and adhered mineral particles is less than that of water due to the relatively large volume of the air bubble Figure 1 B). This concept is the basis for froth flotation operation. To use this concept or phenomenon, the following are required: 1 Met...
